US markets close: Crypto’s tumble as Fed ponders paring balance sheet
The cryptocurrency markets fell sharply on Wednesday night stateside, after the US Federal Reserve released meeting minutes showing the bank is considering reducing its $8.3t (£6.12t) balance sheet.
Bitcoin was down nearly 5% to $44,150 per unit after the close.
Litecoin fell 5.1%. Other popular assets like Ethereum and Solana saw steeper declines of 5.7% and 6.5%, respectively.
OpenSea NFT platform fetches $300m in Series C round
Non-fungible token (NFT) platform OpenSea raised $300m (£221.2m) in a Series C funding round as the platform seeks to become a core destination for NFT tech. CEO Devin Finzer saying OpenSea plans to use some of the funds toward lowering the barriers to NFT entry.
